This page explains how the guides on Deckmio are produced. It exists so that readers — and search engines — can judge our content on how it is actually made, not on a claim. If you think we fall short of anything written here, tell us using the address at the bottom.
Who writes our content
Deckmio is an independent, one-person project. The same person who builds and runs the site also researches, writes and revises every guide on it — there is no agency, no outsourced writing pool and no content farm behind these pages. Content is published under the site's own byline rather than a personal name, so responsibility for a page stays consistent as it is updated over time.
How we research a guide
- Play the game. We open the version hosted on Deckmio and play it, so the setup, controls and quirks we describe are the ones a reader will actually meet.
- Write for a real question. Each guide targets a specific question players ask — the rules of a variant, how a move works, why a hand is stuck — and answers it directly before going deeper.
- Explain the why. Strategy sections give the reasoning behind a move so a reader can apply it to a new situation, rather than memorising a fixed sequence.
- Connect it. Every guide links to the games it covers, and every game page links back to the guides that explain it.
Sources and fact-checking
Game rules are described from the standard, published rules of each game and then checked against the version we host, since variants differ. Where a rule is genuinely ambiguous across traditions, we say so rather than picking one and presenting it as universal. Strategy advice reflects how the games are commonly played and is framed as guidance, not as a guarantee of a win.
How we use software and AI
Understanding a game still comes first: we play it and decide what a reader needs to know. For the mechanical parts of writing, we use software — including AI-assisted drafting tools — to help prepare first drafts and check structure and clarity.
Every page is then edited, checked against the game and approved by the site's author before it is published. We take responsibility for what goes out under our name. We do not publish pages that no one has reviewed, and we do not mass-generate near-identical pages to fill keyword space.
Corrections
Errors are corrected at the source. When a factual mistake is fixed, the page is updated and its “Updated” date changes. If you report a problem, write to [email protected] with the page URL and what looks wrong — we read every message and correct real mistakes.
How often we update
Games change and so do the questions around them. Guides are revisited periodically and whenever a game on the site is changed or replaced. The “Updated” date shown under each guide title reflects the last meaningful revision of that page, not a cosmetic edit.
Independence and advertising
Deckmio is supported by advertising. Advertising has no influence on which games are listed, the order they appear in, or the content of any guide. We do not sell listings, rankings or reviews, and no commercial relationship changes what we write.
