Play Gaps Solitaire Online Free

Gaps is the solitaire that plays like a sliding puzzle. All 52 cards go face up into four rows of thirteen, the four Aces are lifted out, and the empty spaces they leave are the only way to move anything. Fill a gap with the card one rank higher and of the same suit as the card to its left, and you open a new gap somewhere else. Get all four rows running 2 to King and you have solved it.

How to play Gaps Solitaire

All 52 cards are dealt face up into four rows of thirteen, then the four Aces are removed to leave four gaps.
A card may move into a gap only if it is the same suit and one rank higher than the card immediately to the gap's left.
A gap at the far left of a row accepts any 2 — that move fixes which suit the row will build.
Moving a card leaves a new gap behind it, so every move sets up the next.
A gap directly to the right of a King can never be filled — nothing ranks above a King.
When no move is left, reshuffle: correct runs from the left stay put, and the loose cards are dealt back into the rest. Win by finishing all four rows 2 to King.

Controls

Tap a highlighted card to send it to the gap it fits. When a card has more than one legal home, tap the card and then tap the gap. Tap Shuffle when the board is locked and you still have shuffles left.

Tips & strategy

Place your 2s early. A 2 at the far left of a row locks that row's suit and puts the row on rails.
Trace the chain before you move. Filling one gap opens another, and the best move is usually the one that opens the most useful follow-up.
Avoid leaving a card next to a King's right-hand gap — those spaces are dead until a reshuffle.
Do not spend a shuffle the second you are stuck. Scan the whole board first; a legal move is often hiding in a corner you already passed.
Finish one row at a time. A completed row keeps its run through every reshuffle, so a locked row is permanent progress.
